Our Core Values
We are a resource church for the city that embraces the riches of the Historic Christian Faith,
nurtures a community of believers and seekers, and mobilizes ministries to bring about personal,
social, and cultural renewal in Denver and around the world. We seek to carry out our ministry
in light of the following core values:
The Gospel
The Gospel is the proclamation that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are
given new life. The truth of this message tells us that on the one hand, we are far more morally
flawed than we can ever believe, yet at the same time far more loved and cherished than we ever
dared hope.
The City
We believe the city is the most strategic place for Christians to live and minister – that as
goes the city so goes the culture. Thus the city is not a place to be avoided nor merely tolerated
but a strategic mission field where God’s people should be present and ministering.
Worship
Worship is the primary mission of the Church. Our worship of God’s surprising beauty builds up
believers and helps the spiritually skeptical, curious, & unconvinced.
Community
Community, as modeled in the love of the Triune God, is emphasized in Community Groups that
enable us to live in genuine community with one another and the neighborhoods we reside in.
Compassion
Compassion is meeting deep human needs through ministries of mercy. Because God became man
we believe that He affirms both the physical and spiritual. Through the Resurrection of Christ
God redeems not only the spiritual and personal, but also the physical and social needs of the
City and the World.
City Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Reformed Church in America.
